Roadmap
What we plan to build next and what we will never build.
Projects and sharing
- Easier project sharing Simpler ways to invite people and work together in a project.
- Lenses out of Beta Lenses are views of your tasks that you build yourself. We will finish them.
- Comments in shared projects Talk about a task inside the task and mention someone to get their attention. Comments are encrypted like everything else.
- Know when a task is assigned to you A notification when someone in a shared project gives you a task.
Tasks and attachments
- Attachment previews Open images and PDFs right in the app.
- Formatting in descriptions Bold text and lists in a task description.
- Automatic cleanup of completed tasks If you turn it on, old completed tasks are deleted for good from your devices and our servers. The app stays fast.
User experience
- Better use of big screens Tablets and wide windows show more at once.
- Landscape A better layout when you turn your phone sideways.
- More languages Use Lockday in your own language.
Adding tasks
- Share to Lockday Send a link or some text from another app and it becomes a task.
- Add a task from the lock screen Write a task down without unlocking your phone. It is encrypted right away and added to your list the next time you open Lockday.
Planning
- More repeat options Such as "end after 10 times", "every 2nd Tuesday" and "the last day of the month".
- A default time zone for new tasks Choose the time zone that new tasks start in. Today they use the time zone of your device.
Privacy and security
- Optional wipe after too many wrong PINs If you turn it on, a device erases its data after too many wrong PINs.
- Verify collaborators faster by scanning a QR code Scan the code on their screen instead of comparing it by eye.
Apps
- App Store and Google Play
- A new web app Built for the browser with a much smaller download.
Openness
- Open-source client We will publish the source code of the apps so anyone can check what they do.
Things we will never build
- Anything that puts your content on our servers unencrypted Your content never reaches our servers unencrypted. That rules out turning forwarded emails into tasks and any AI that reads your tasks on our servers.
- A way for us to read your tasks Nobody at Lockday can read them. That includes support and anyone who asks us to.
- Analytics or tracking in the app The app does not count your taps, screens or habits.
- Third-party crash reporting No outside company gets reports from your device. If something breaks, you decide whether to send us a log with your feedback.
- Ads or selling your data We do not sell your data and the app shows no ads.
